Pelvic floor and Core Fitness Class – Foundational 4 class series

Mar15th 2022

Are you a woman who wants to exercise but doesn’t know where to start?

Have you had a baby and now are not sure how to get back into an exercise routine safely?

This is a beginner-level small group fitness class for women taught by a pelvic floor physical therapist to help you learn how to properly coordinate your pelvic floor muscles with general whole body strengthening exercises.  This class will also teach you a wide variety of exercises to strengthen and tone your abdominal muscles while protecting your back and pelvic floor.

Pelvic Floor & Core Fitness Class #1

This is a beginner-level small group fitness class for women taught by a pelvic floor physical therapist to help you learn how to properly coordinate your pelvic floor muscles with general whole body strengthening exercises.  This class will also teach you a wide variety of exercises to strengthen and tone your abdominal muscles while protecting your back and pelvic floor.

Pelvic Floor & Core Fitness Class #2

This class will build off the coordination and muscle activation patterns learned in the first class with some more challenging and dynamic movements. Adding more varied movements improves the functional carryover of the muscle coordination learned to help add stability to your daily activities. There will still be scalable exercises available for each skill level.

Pelvic Floor & Core Fitness Class #3

This class will add some single leg activities to add a balance challenge to the core and hip muscles while maintaining proper stabilization. Improving balance helps to improve your confidence and stability with movement and can help improve overall posture. Supports will be available to scale the balance difficulty for all skill levels.

Pelvic Floor & Core Fitness Class #4

This class will provide education and practice with light plyometric exercises to teach you how to properly stabilize and control jumping and landing.  Learning how and when to engage your core and pelvic floor during plyometrics is key to maintaining proper abdominal pressure and support.  This will help you progress your strength and speed and prevent overloading injuries. Multiple options are available to safely challenge all skill levels.

This foundational fitness class series is great and safe for:

  • Women looking to build core strength safely
  • New moms (more than 6 weeks postpartum)
  • Pregnant women (who are not high risk)
  • History of diastasis recti
  • History of mild prolapse
  • Occasional mild stress incontinence (leaking urine)

There will also be time available after each class to ask the instructor any of your pelvic floor questions to get additional feedback and recommendations!

Cost: C $25 per class or you can purchase all 4 classes for $59!
