Custom Orthotic Shoe Inserts

Are you suffering from foot, ankle, knee, hip, back pain, or even shoulder or neck pain that keeps coming back without any apparent cause? The problem, surprisingly, might be coming from your feet!

Fortunately, there is a solution that could be perfect for you – a custom orthotic shoe insert.

You may have seen shoe inserts online or at your local running shoe store, but not all inserts are created equally and they weren’t created specifically for you.

We scan your feet in our office to create your custom shoe orthotic. The company we have partnered with to make our orthotics helps to control all three arches of your feet, not just the inside arch that off-the-shelf orthotics address. We prescribe orthotics to help you move better without pain so that you can return to the activities you love. We consider orthotics a movement tool to help your foot experience the ground better, not just a passive support. If we determine that we think you will benefit from orthotics, you would also get an exercise program to match your needs to improve the function of your foot.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need custom orthotics?

It depends! They are a powerful tool that many people can benefit from. If we are not progressing well without the use of an orthotic to help you achieve your goals then we will have a serious discussion about utilizing them as part of your treatment plan.

If I get a pair of orthotics, do I need them forever?

For most people, our goal would be to help you retrain your foot and body to move so that you don’t have to have them forever. Some people need them for 3-12 months to help them get over their injury hump and stay active in their favorite activities. Some people may benefit from having them long-term because of their medical history or because they just love them!

We recommend getting your feet rescanned at least every 2 years to see if there are any changes to your feet.

What type of shoe will fit an orthotic?

We can make them to fit all shoe types, even some high heels or flats.

We can even make a custom flip-flop or sandal if you need a little extra help for your feet on your summer vacation!

How long does one pair last?

We find that most of the time they will last for ~ 1 year before needing a new pair. Our athletes who wear them in their cleats can typically get at least 6-months out of one pair.

We do special offers to reduce the cost of subsequent pairs if purchased at the same time. We find that patients often like having a pair for their everyday shoes, their exercise/sport shoes, and sometimes a sandal. Having multiple pairs allows us to order different models (same fit, but different materials) to meet the uniqueness of the different shoe types. It can also prolong the life of your orthotics.
